In the first stage of this journey we immediately decided to spoil ourselves. After all we are also a bit on vacation, isn’t it?!
My beloved Viterbo, dark and medieval capital of Tuscia, is a destination that I try to reach whenever I can. Its tufa neighborhoods, the excellent food, the thermal springs and the surrounding woods are an irresistible attraction for me.
For this time, Viterbo has broken the long path to the north with an extraordinary grandma’s lunch! While walking around the city center we took some pictures. Today the feast of Santa Rosa is recurring, so citizens parade through the historic center with the Santa Rosa Machine, a mobile tower of 30 meters height for 5 tons of weight supported by 100 porters.
Unfortunately we could not stay for the procession, having to leave immediately for Venice!
